Greifenklau Roter Bock
Brewery: Greifenklau
Town: Bamberg
Style: Roter Bock 6.7%
Color: unfiltered dark red
Head: 0ff-white, creamy
Nose: richly malty, spicy
Body: medium
Palate: richly malty, nice spice element
Finish: lingering, semi-dry
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: I’d not really heard of this one but the Roter Bock style gains stream. Nice off-white creamy head and some spice in the otherwise malty nose. Spice carries into the palate which remains fairly dry despite a relatively low hopping rate. Not a style which grabs me but this one seems well done.
