Wurm Jura Quell Doppelbock
Brewery: Wurm
Town: Bieswang (Pappenheim)
Style: Doppelbock 7.5%
Color: chestnut
Head: off-white, rocky, lasting
Nose: richly malty, light caramel
Body: full
Palate: balanced, richly malty, a touch of roast and caramel
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet
Served: from a bottle bought at Landbier Paradies in Nürnberg
Impression: Finally a a good one after three off beers from Wurm. This one poured beautifully with a gorgeous off white rocky head, deep chestnut hue and a rich malty nose of caramel and roast. It’s very soft on the tongue and though rich in flavor along the lines of its nose, it sure doesn’t taste like 7.5%, so dangerously drinkable for such a potent brew.
