Impression: Thanks to Spalter’s good distribution network I found this along with their Winterbock while in Wassertrüdigen for the Forstquell Bockanstich. Gorgeous amber hue and rocky head along with their signature Spalter hops aroma. I had a Kerwa beer from them awhile back and was disappointed by the lack of hops. Not so with this lovely winter Festbier, hoppy right out of the gate but plenty of malt backbone for balance. Not what many look for in a Fest but I’m happy to find one just like this.
