Mahrs E.T.A. Dunkles Lagerbier
Brewery: Mahrs Bräu
Town: Bamberg
Style: Dunkles 5%
Color: chestnut
Head: off-white, creamy
Nose: malty, some chocolate, underlying hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, nice chocolate element, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: from a bottle at the brewery
Impression: Finally broke down and got this at the pub despite it being from a bottle. Ive never seen it in shops and sad it’s not more popular. Nice chestnut hue and both chocolate malt and hops in the nose. Palate is much the same, balanced and dry for the style with the chocolate and hops playing together well. Finish is moreishly dry and just bitter enough.
