Kesselring Urfränkisches Doppelbock
Brewery: Kesselring
Town: Marktsteft
Style: Heller Doppelbock 7.5%
Color: deep golden
Head: white, rocky, bready
Nose: rich malt, hint of honey, light grain

Served: from a bottle bought at Sagasser in Lower Franconia
Impression: I didn’t realize this was Kesselring when I bought it but the bottle looked familiar. Urfränkisches is their moniker so must remember as this is another good one from them. It’s a gorgeous slow pour with a deep golden hue and rocky head. There’s some honey in the otherwise richly malty nose. The richly malty palate is again tinged with honey but underlying hops dry it out nicely in the lingering, semi-dry bittersweet finish.
