Impression: This is quite the dry and hoppy Helles. There’s some malt underneath but generally out of style in the relative scarcity of it. That said, it’s well-positioned for the new to hoppy beers of the new young Craft Beer enthusiasts. Not bad but if your time in Bamberg is limited, stick to the old standards and if you’re looking for a malty Helles, head to Munich.
