Wurm Vollbier Dunkel
Brewery: Wurm
Town: Bieswang (Pappenheim)
Style: Vollbier Dunkel 4.8%
Color: unfiltered chestnut
Head: off-white
Nose: malty, spicy
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, some sour element
Finish: lingering, semi-dry
Served: from a bottle bought at Landbier Paradies in Nürnberg
Impression: This is the third beer of a much sought after brewery’s line-up and again the odd sourish element. I’d give their beers another chance if I saw them, especially on tap but this has to be off.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
