Landwehr Kirchweihbier
Brewery: Landwehr-Bräu
Town: Reichelshofen (Steinsfeld)
Style: Festbier 5.4%
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: off-white
Nose: malty, hint of caramel
Body: medium
Palate: malty, hint of caramel
Finish: lingering
Served: from a bottle bought in the area
Impression: This looked promising and though the component flavors are appropriate, it’s thin taste-wise. The lingering finish doesn’t go anywhere in particular and isn’t exactly inviting.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
