Hummel Dunkler Bock

Brewery: Hummel
Town:
Merkendorf
Style:
Dunkler Bock 7.5%
Color:
chestnut
Head: off-white,
creamy
Nose: richly
malty, hint of chocolate
Body: full

Palate:
balanced, richly malty, hint of chocolate
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: On tap at the brewery

Impression: This wasn’t as aromatic as the Wagner Dunkler Bock I’d just had but it was just about as tasty if somewhat simpler.

Next beer or back to the beer list.

  1. I loved the hike we did with you which took in Merkendorf; alas, it was the wrong time of year for Bock.

Are you running winter hikes – because I think it would be cool (no pun intended) to revisit this area – I imagine it is very different with snow on the ground and a nice warm pub to aim for.
