Häberlen Gaildorfer Weihnachtsbier
Brewery: Häberlen
Town: Gaildorf
Style: Festbier 5.3%
Color: golden
Head: white, rocky
Nose: malty, light grain
Body: medium, spritzy
Palate: balanced, malty, pleasant graininess
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: from a bottle bought in the area
Impression: Another visually pleasing beer from Gaildorf. It looks suspiciously like the flagship Spezial and is the same strength to boot. It might be a tad richer but giving them the benefit of the doubt. Though soft, it has the same light spritzy character. The malt forward beer is nonetheless well-balanced and has a nice mix of grain and hops throughout to the clean finish.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
