Franken Bräu Pils

golden beer in pewter lidded mug with bottle
Franken Bräu Pils

Brewery: Franken Bräu
Pils 4.7%
Color: golden

Head: white
, rocky
light grain, hops
Body: medium

balanced, malty, pleasant graininess, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought in the area

Impression: This is the second of the two Riedbacher beers I picked up and while this one is perhaps more visually appealing, especially the head, it’s not quite up to par with the Original. It’s got a similar mix of grain and hops in both the nose and palate but the finish isn’t quite as clean. That said, overall it’s still a winner which makes me want to visit their pub to sample the beers on tap.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
