Impression: This is another interesting Craft Beer offering from quite traditional Fischer. This line uncharacteristically features traditional styles that have somewhat fallen by the wayside. This dark brew was originally labeled Schwarze Lore but it’s not really a Schwarzbier. It’s now called a Dunkles Lagerbier which is more befitting despite the higher than typical 5.6% alcohol content. So it’s a bit of a dark Festbier with a richly malty palate which has a pleasant sweetness balanced well by a slight roast, dark bread and buried but drying underlying hops. The lingering finish manages a nice level of dryness without much bitterness.
