Impression: Though a bit underwhelmed with their regular beers, I couldn’t resist stopping in for their Bock as I’d heard it was a Roterbock. The pub also looked cozy and with freezing temperatures in Bamberg this weekend, it offered some respite. This place once had red neon lights and looked more like a strip club so it’s vastly improved. They took their time pouring it and the least fizzy beer I’ve had here. I’d have to say it’s probably the best one I’ve had too. Malty but not overly sweet with some fair hopping to balance things out. It’s got a nice spiciness as well. There’s a pleasant fruitiness and though the finish could be cleaner, it’s not cloying. At 6.5%, it’s easy drinking. Not great but worth trying.
