Schleicher Storchen Pils
Brewery: Schleicher
Town: Itzgrund (Kaltenbrunn)
Style: Pils
Color: golden
Head: white
Nose: malty, underlying hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, grainy, underlying hops
Finish: lingering
Served: on tap at their Bräutübla
Impression: This was a rushed Schnitt and the only comment I wrote was it was a better Helles than the Helles and that about sums up the experience of both beers. I’d ordered a full Helles and wasn’t overly impressed. I got a half of this Pils and it was much tastier and while not a true Pils, it was a better example of a Helles than what I’d just had. So, get the Pils unless you don’t like hops whatsoever.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
