Sauer (Röttenbach) Storchenbier

beer in ceramic mug with bierdeckel and coaster
Sauer Storchenbier

Brewery: Sauer
Town:
ttenbach
Style: Dunkles
Kellerbier
Color:
in Krug so no visuals, looks amber
Head:
white, creamy, thinning
Nose:
malty, light grain
Body:
medium, soft
Palate:
balanced, fruity, hint of grain, very slightly buttery, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry

Served: on tap at the Zeckerner Keller

Impression: The first sip and slight butter put me off but with each subsequent taste, I found it much more interesting and quaffable than the regular Kellerbier. The slight butter blends in and it’s just that wee bit drier. The finish still lingers but with more purpose, making for a beer you’d want to drink more than one of, and really isn’t that what the Keller is all about.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
