Sauer Kellerbier
Brewery: Sauer
Town: Röttenbach
Style: Kellerbier
Color: in Krug so no visuals, looks golden
Head: white, creamy, thinning
Nose: malty, light grain
Body: medium, soft
Palate: balanced, fruity, hint of grain, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry
Served: on tap at the Zeckerner Keller
Impression: The bus went by the brewery on the way here and it looked busy enough but the Keller is even so. It’s very family oriented with kids everywhere. The Keller itself is nicer but the Kellerbier had a hard act to follow after Geyer Kellerbier. While this one is much maltier, it’s not sweet. It’s fruitier and dry enough though I find the finish a little overly lingering. That said, it’s certainly a beer you could settle into, in a setting as nice as this.
