Hofbräu Oberle Dinkelbier
Brewery: Hofbräu Oberle
Town: Kosbach
Style: Dinkelbier 5%
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: white, creamy
Nose: fruity
Body: medium
Palate: fruity, malty
Finish: lingering, fruity
Served: on tap at Die Fischerei
Impression: This looks liked a fine Dunkelweizen with a gorgeous lasting creamy head and fruity nose. Palate was fruity as well and quite refreshing. The finish was stickier than I’d have liked but not overly so. Glad I tried it but also glad I got a small pour. It’s not a style I’m overly enamored with.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
