Color: unfiltered golden
Head: white, creamy
Nose: grainy, mown grass
Palate: balanced, grainy, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Hop Dog in Munich
Impression: While waiting for the first gravity barrel to be tapped at Hop Dog’s 2nd Birthday Bash, I was happy to try one of their many Franconian beers from their anything but regular tap list. I was happy to see Knoblach’s Sommerbier as I’d not had it. It was a top pour with a perfect head and some lovely mown grass in the otherwise grainy nose. It was quite balanced for a Knoblach brew with a lingering semi-dry finish.
