Impression: I wasn’t expecting to find this in Dinkelsbühl but there it was, the somewhat elusive if only for me Gutmann Dunkles Hefeweizen. I gave up a local beer to buy it and glad I did. Gorgeous pour with a rocky head and some banana bread in the yeasty nose. First sip seemed muted and not overly tasty but it grows on you with each one. The mix of banana and slight roast conjures banana bread and it’s got a remarkable dryness not offen achieved by Weizens. The lingering finish is moreishly dry, hinting at the subdued but obviously there hops.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
