Impression: Festbier first brewed in 2005 for the 1200th anniversary of Forchheim. This is a fairly typical Franconian lager in the Altfränkischesbier style, though slightly stronger at 5.3%. It’s richly malty with a touch of spice, caramel and integrated butterscotch. It’s probably a much more traditional beer than their current flagship Export but sadly a bit of a dying style. It wouldn’t be an everyday beer for me but I’d hate to see it disappear just the same.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
