Aktien Zwickl Kellerbier
Brewery: Bayreuther Bierbrauerei
Town: Bayreuth
Style: Kellerbier 5.3%
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: off-white, rocky
Nose: mix of grain and hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, very slight roast, some grain, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: from a bottle bought in Munich
Impression: I’d not had this in some time and think I’ve generally had it after a Radeberger while in Saxony so found it bland. While not an amazing Kellerbier, it’s certainly quite drinkable with a fairly dry hoppy palate and lingering semi-bitter finish. It’s not going to become my go to session beer but I could see this as a good pizza beer and it’s readily available in Munich and better than the local Kellerbiers from Spaten and Hacker.
