Hofmühl Hefeweizen

Brewery: Hofmühl
Town:
Eichstätt
Style:
Hefeweizen
Color: dark honeycomb

Head: white
, creamy, thinning
Nose:
banana, yeasty, some butterscotch
Body: medium

Palate:
malty, fruity, banana, yeasty, some butterscotch
Finish: lingering, cloying

Served: on tap at Brauerei-Gasthof Trompete

Impression: I had very low expectations of this brewery and this Weißbier isn’t helping. It could be just a bland somewhat cloying example but there’s some definite butterscotch in the mix. It’s not a lot and it kind of blends in but still not a great start. Might pick up a bottle to see if it’s just off. I did and it was much better if not great.
