Manns Bräu Helles

golden beer with massive head in logo mug
Mann’s Bräu Helles

Brewery: Becher-Bräu
Town:
Bayreuth
Style:
Helles
Color:
light golden
Head:
white, rocky, massive, lasting
Nose:
light grain, a touch of honey, faint citrus hops
Body:
medium
Palate: balanced, malty,
hoppy for style, light grain
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: on tap at Manns Bräu

Impression: It took a while to pour but magnificent it was with a head to die for. Smells like a wheat field is their description and befitting it is. Grainy but also some citrusy hops in both the nose and palate. This has plenty of malt backbone but the fair hopping keeps it honest. The finish is lingering and just dry and bitter enough to make it moreish, especially at 4.8%. Better than expected.
