Weiherer Summer Ale

Weiherer Summer Ale bottle
Weiherer Summer Ale
Brewery: Kundmüller
Town: Viereth-Trundstadt (Weiher)
Style: Craft Beer Ale
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: off-white, rocky, lasting
Nose: citrus hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, citrusy
Finish: clean, dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: Another gorgeous pour with lots of citrus in both the nose and palate but retaining a nice balance before the lingering, dry, semi-bitter finish. Though this was a late November visit, they had it on tap and I’d missed it on my previous visit so got a small one and won’t hesitate to get it again in summer. I also picked up a bottle to bring home and it’s an excellent beer.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also just published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria. View all posts by beerwanderers
