Tucher Urfränkisch Dunkel
Brewery: Tucher
Town: Fürth/Nürnberg
Style: Dunkel
Color: mahogany
Head: off-white
Nose: some roast
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, roasty, underlying hops
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the Grüner Brauhaus in Fürth
Impression: After the admittedly much hoppier Rotbier than expected, I questioned my order choice but this Dunkel, while far less hoppy, is nonetheless dry enough as a follow up. The head wasn’t as impressive but it was likely due to it being busier. Nice roast in the nose once it’s warmed up, leading to a nicely dry balanced palate. The finish is quite clean and dry without being overly bitter.
