Felsenbräu Bernstein Weizen

dark wheat beer in glass with bottle
Felsenbräu Bernstein Weizen

Brewery:  Felsenbräu
Town:
Thalmannsfeld
Style: Dunkelweizen
Color: ruddy amber

Head: off-white
, yeasty, lasting
Nose: dark bread, biscuit, fruity, yeast

Body: medium

Palate: balanced,
malty, fruity
Finish: lingering

Served: from a bottle bought at the Felsenbräu Bräutüberl

Impression: I’m sometimes leery of Franconian Weizens but this place is pretty far south and this is a tasty Dunkelweizen with some dark bread and biscuit in the yeasty mix. Some fruitiness creeps in before the lingering finish with just a hint of bitterness. Nice and only 5.1%.
