Ulrich Martin Martini Bock

Brewery:
Ulrich Martin
Town:
Hausen (bei Schonungen)
Style: Dunklerbock

Color: unfiltered amber
Head: off-white, rocky, lasting
Nose: rich malt, dried fruit, apricot, fine hopping

Body: full

Palate: balanced, fruity, fine hops, hint of roast

Finish: long, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served:
on tap at the brewery

Impression: Nice to finally get this on tap after having a bottle two years prior. A rich unfiltered amber brew with a massive head and a mixed nose of dried fruit and hops. This is a marvelously crafted Bock with the kind of balance most lack while fully embracing the richly malty palate the style is defined by. The hopping is there from the start but never intrudes. Its drying effect is subtle, sublime and moreish making it dangerously drinkable at 7%.
