Town: Zeil am Main
Color: very dark unfiltered brown
Head: tan, rocky, lasting
Nose: coffee, dark chocolate
Palate: malty, coffee leading into dark chocolate, slight pleasant sourishness
Finish: long, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: I’ve enjoyed every seasonal beer I’ve had from Göller and the Craft Beer offerings have been equally good. This is one gorgeous looking stout with a massive rocky tan head/coffee and dark chocolate in the nose. It’s full-flavored and yet very much a session beer with enough dryness to make the finish pleasantly semi-bitter and moreish. It’s deceptively easy to drink at 5.5%.
