Bambergator
Brewery: Fäßla
Town: Bamberg
Style: Dopplebock
Color: dark amber
Head: off-white, thinning
Nose: malty, fruity
Body: medium
Palate: richly malty, fruity
Finish: lingering, bittersweet
Served: gravity dispense at the brewery
Impression: Finally got it on tap after many years and gravity dispense no less. From memory, it was much hoppier in the bottle and while it’s got a nice enough semi-dry fruity character, it’s not very complex considering it’s 8.5%. I’ll have to pick up another bottle to see if memory was serving me well but certainly not hard-pressed to attend their Anstich even though it’s nice to see it’s from the barrel.
