Wiethaler Bockbier Hell
Brewery: Wiethaler
Town: Neunhof
Style: Hellerbock
Color: golden
Head: white, rocky, lasting
Nose: rich malt, alcohol
Body: full
Palate: richly malty, alcohol notes
Finish: lingering, slightly sticky
Served: from a bottle bought at the brewery
Impression: I was glad to find this still available in the Wiethaler shop. Gorgeous pour with a rich malty nose and whiffs of alcohol. It sadly lacks any of the hop presence of some of the other beers but it’s richly malty with a fair alcohol presence despite it being a relatively low 6.4%. The finish isn’t overly sticky but more hops would have fixed what I found unappealing in this Hellerbock.
