Wiethaler Black Moon Stout
Style: American Stout
Color: dark mahogany
Head: off-white, rocky, lasting
Nose: roasty, light Hersbrucker hops
Palate: roasty, underlying hops
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: from a bottle bought at brewery
Impression: This was one nice looking mahogany beer with a lovely off-white head and Hersbrucker hops in the nose. It’s got the American stout aroma but it’s thin-bodied for the style and a bit light on flavor despite being 5.6%. I’d say it’s one of the better porters I’ve had in Germany. Sadly, there aren’t many.
