Impression: This was a beer I’d gone from having very low expectations to having relatively high ones. Previous accounts of the Thomann beer were not good and the person I visited with had his own bad personal experiences. An online acquaintance with strong ties to the area had told me the family was more invested in the current operation and that the beer as indeed good. We were expecting a dark beer but out came this very good looking dark golden Zwickel with a great rocky head. It had a nice dry fruity palate and the finish, while lingering, was just dry and bitter enough to make it moreish.
Next beer or back to the beer list.
