Rittmayer (Willersdorf) Kellerbier

Brewery: Lieberth (contracted for Landgasthof Rittmayer)
Town: Hallerndorf

Style: Kellerbier
Color: in Krug so no visuals, looks light amber
Head: white, rocky
Nose: cascade hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, cascade hops
Finish: lingering, slightly bitter

Served: on tap at the Landgasthof Rittmayer.

Impression: It was quite an eye-opener staying in the area for three nights as I had a chance to sample all the Rittmayer beers. They really vary from location to location. I had an awful Landbier hell at the Rittmayer Keller and hours later, the one at the Rittmayer Gartenkeller was fine. This house beer from the Landgasthof Rittmayer is actually brewed by Lieberth in Hallerndorf according to the original recipe of the now defunct brewery at the hotel. It’s much more hop forward and to be honest, I think it’s better than any of the “other” Rittmayer beers.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
