Wiethaler Landbier Dunkel
Head: off-white, rocky, lasting
Nose: malty, Hersbruck & Spalter hops, a touch of roast
Palate: balanced, malty, Hersbruck & Spalter hops, slightly roasty
Finish: lingering, semi-dry
Served: on tap at Gasthof Wiethaler
Impression: Great looking Dunkles with good head retention and some Herbruck & Spalter hops in the nose. A nicely balanced Dunkles which goes well with food and has a surprisingly hoppy but in no way bitter palate. The finish is lingering but not cloying. I quite like it but something is missing and I can’t put my finger on it. Back later for a quick one and lacking harmony more than anything else.
