Spalter Vollbier Hell
Brewery: Stadtbrauerei Spalt (Spalter Bier)
Town: Spalt
Style: Vollbier
Color: golden
Head: white, creamy, lasting
Nose: nice mix of grain and Spalter hops
Body: medium, fizzy
Palate: balanced, grainy, Spalter hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Die Pfugsmühle
Impression: I got a small pour of this as I had to hike back to my train station so the small mug didn’t help with the fizzy pour. Though by far the most popular beer at the Pfugsmühle, I found it the least interesting and surprisingly most bitter of the beers I tried. It was nonetheless and nice mix of grains and hops with a clean dry finish. At 4.8%, I imagine it would be an easy enough beer to drink all night if none of the others were available.
