Fürst Carl Märzen
Brewery: Fürst Carl Schlossbrauerei
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: off-white, creamy
Nose: rich malt, fair hops
Body: medium, fizzy
Palate: balanced, rich malt, hoppy
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Fürst Carl Bräustüberl
Impression: This was a surprise find on tap and not on the Fürst Carl website. It’s a very nice and rare hoppy Märzen. It’s sadly marred by over carbonation. It’s got a nice mix of malt and firm hopping, making for the cleanest finish of all the beers tried at the Bräustüberl. I think with less gas, it’s the most sessionable beer of the lot by far.
