Fürst Carl Schlossgold Kellerbier
Brewery: Fürst Carl Schlossbrauerei
Town: Ellingen
Style: Kellerbier
Color: unfiltered light golden
Head: white, creamy
Nose: grainy
Body: medium, fizzy
Palate: balanced, grainy, fair hopping
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Fürst Carl Bräustüberl
Impression: Supposedly an unfiltered version of the Schloss Gold and a good example of the benefits of letting good be. This is much earthier with less stickiness to the malt, some grassy notes shinning through and a simultaneously drier and less bitter finish. Still way too fizzy but can’t blame the brewer for the guy pouring it. That said in a land where training rules, let’s figure out what should be taught.
