Fürst Carl Josefi Bock

dark beer in wine glass with bottle
Fürst Carl Josefi Bock

Brewery: Fürst Carl Schlossbrauerei
Town:
Ellingen
Style: Doppelbock
Color: unfiltered dark amber

Head: off-white, rocky, lasting

Nose: dried fruit, underlying hops

Body: medium
to full
Palate: balanced, dried fruit, richly malty, underlying hops

Finish: lingering, semi-dry, very slightly bitter

Served: from a bottle bought at the brewery

Impression: this is a lovely looking Bock with a rocky off-white head and a mix of dried fruit and hops in the nose. Despite it’s 7.5% alcohol content, it’s not as heavy and certainly not as cloying as many Bocks. It’s got more hops in both the nose and palate too, drying the lingering finish out but leaving it only very slightly bitter. Nice
