Ammerndorfer Keller Trunk

amber beer with huge head in glass with bottle

Ammerndorfer Keller Trunk

Brewery: Dorn-Bräu (Ammerndorfer)
Town:
Ammerndorf
Style:
Kellerbier
Color: unfiltered amber

Head: off-white
, rocky, lasting
Nose: light mix of grain and hops

Body: medium
, soft
Palate: balanced, light grain, underlying hops

Finish: clean, semi-dry, slight bitterness

Served: from a bottle bought at the brewery

Impression: Great looking beer with a massive lasting head and slight grain in the nose. Balanced with a dryish slightly grainy palate. Hops peek out in the nose and ever so slightly assert themselves as you get lower in the glass. This seemed a bit bland on the first few sips but it grows on you the more you drink. The finish is just a tad bitter with a semi-dryness which makes it moreish. At 4.9%, it would make a fine beer at a Keller if you could find one that served it.
