Head: white, creamy
Nose: grainy, light hops
Palate: balanced, dry, fruity, hint of grain, underlying hops
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: from a bottle at the Hopfenhaus
Impression: I made a special trip out to Röttenbach mostly to drink the Sauer beers on tap so was disappointed to be told all beer was from bottles. Once I got over this, I found this Export to be quite nice. It’s balanced with a malty moreishness which manages to be dry and fruity as well. The clean semi-bitter finish makes it quite quaffable at 4.9%. Hopefully, it’s on tap the next time I’m in the area.
