Lippert Sommer Pils

unfiltered yellow beer in logo glass
Lippert Sommer Pils

Brewery: Braumanufaktur Lippert
Town:
Seubelsdorf (Lichtenfels)
Style:
Keller Pils
Color: unfiltered yellow

Head: white
, creamy, thinning
Nose: citrusy hops, slight grain

Body: medium

Palate: cereal notes, citrus hops

Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: on tap at the brewery

Impression: I’d liked both beers in the regular line-up and I was expecting the most from this seasonal beer so unsurprisingly I was initially disappointed. It was a lot fizzier than the previous two beers but as it calmed down and warmed up, it revealed itself as a fairly balanced dry quaffer at 4.9%.  The citrus in the nose was enticing but overall it didn’t come close to either the Helles or Rauchbier for me.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
