Color: deep golden
Head: rocky, white
Nose: rich malt, grainy
Palate: balanced, malty, grainy
Finish: clean, semi-bitter, semi-dry
Served: from a bottle bought locally
Impression: This is a rich malty Fest, typical of the area. I was pleasantly surprised at how hoppy their Hellerbock was so must admit I’m a little disappointed to not find the same here. That said, it’s drier than most and probably hoppier too, underneath all the malt. It’s certainly well made and evidently what most are looking for in the style but personally I’d like a little brother to their hoppy Bock.
