Binkert Pale Ale
Brewery: Brauhaus Binkert
Town: Breitengüßbach
Style: Pale Ale
Color: unfiltered light amber
Head: off-white, creamy
Nose: citrusy hops
Body: medium, soft
Palate: balanced, semi-dry, citrusy hops, semi-bitter
Finish: lingering, dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the brewpub
Impression: I’d not had this one before and hadn’t had a Pale Ale in quite a long time so I enjoyed it despite a less than clean glass. I didn’t see a mention of nitro but it sure had that kind of smoothness. It’s very much in the American Craft Beer mold but lacks the full-on citrusy element. There’s still a nagging if slight bitterness but overall a nice enough interpretation of the style and easy enough to drink at 5.2%.
