Keesmann Hell
Brewery: Keesmann
Town: Bamberg
Style: Helles
Color: yellow to golden
Head: white, thinning
Nose: malty, light cereal
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, slight grain
Finish: clean
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: This is a beer that gets fairly high ratings on German beer sites but I mistakenly had it after their Sternla, thinking that might be on the maltier side. After what was quite a dry/bitter beer, this Helles seemed a bit simple. It was a good looking beer and was balanced with a mostly malty palate. I may have missed out on some of its nuances due to the previous beer but even after the Sternla, it didn’t seem cloying and the finish was clean.
