Hütten Dunkel
Brewery: Hütten
Town: Hütten (Warmensteinach)
Style: Dunkles
Color: dark chestnut
Head: off-white, creamy
Nose: roasty
Body: medium, soft
Palate: balanced, malty, roasty, underlying hops, dry
Finish: clean, dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Hotel Restaurant Birgitte in Warmensteinach
Impression: This was the polar opposite pour-wise from their Helles which was quite fizzy. It was very soft and much drier as well. The nose was full of roast and that was the initial flavor but some dark chocolate peeked through as it warmed up. It’s quite dry in the semi-bitter finish, dangerously so at 5.2%.
