Hübner Staadtfelder Frühlingsbier
Brewery: Hübner
Town: Steinfeld
Style: Festbier
Color: unfiltered golden
Head: white, rocky, sudsy
Nose: faint grain, spicy
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, grainy, underlying hops, touch of butterscotch, peppery
Finish: lingering, dry, semi-bitter
Served: from a bottle bought in the area
Impression: I’ve had quite a few Festbiers from Hübner during the Lockdown and this one is similar. They’ve all been 5.5% and balanced with some grain and a hint of butterscotch which is integrated and pleasant. This one has a peppery spiciness in the nose which carries over into the palate. The finish is less certain than their flagship Vollbier but certainly clean enough and moreishly bitter.
