Hübner Staadtfelder Frühlingsbier (Steinfeld)

yellow beer in glass next to bottle and flower on grass
Hübner Staadtfelder Frühlingsbier

Brewery: Hübner
Town:
Steinfeld
Style:
Festbier
Color: unfiltered golden

Head:
white, rocky, sudsy
Nose: faint grain, spicy
Body: medium

Palate: balanced,
grainy, underlying hops, touch of butterscotch, peppery
Finish: lingering, dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought in the area

Impression: I’ve had quite a few Festbiers from Hübner during the Lockdown and this one is similar. They’ve all been 5.5% and balanced with some grain and a hint of butterscotch which is integrated and pleasant. This one has a peppery spiciness in the nose which carries over into the palate. The finish is less certain than their flagship Vollbier but certainly clean enough and moreishly bitter.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
