Impression: This was another a beer I had had a hard time getting my hands on despite being at the brewery on Good Friday. It’s a short run which runs out on Easter and obviously sometimes before. I was happy to spot it at a bottle store the Thursday before the holiday. As with many things, it was a bit disappointing compared to similar Festbiers I’ve had from them recently. It had a very slight butterscotch element which stayed pleasantly enough in the background. The nose was quite grainy but that was subdued in the palate too. There was some nice spiciness but it was somewhat overpowered by the ample hopping which oddly enough didn’t lead to an overly bitter finish. Like their other Festbiers, it’s an easy drinking 5.5%. I guess it was just up against its own steep competition and I’d buy it again…if I can find it!

Next beer or back to the beer list.
