Grasser Weizenbock

weissbier in glass with bottle
Grasser Weizenbock

Brewery: Grasser
Town: Huppendorf
Style: Weizenbock
Color: unfiltered amber

Nose: dried apricot, yeasty
Body: medium
Palate: richly malty, nice touch of dried apricot, yeast
Finish: lingering, semi-dry

Served: from a bottle bought in the area

Impression: This Weizenbock is one of the two Huppendorfer seasonals I haven’t manage to have so was happy to find it online. One plus of COVID-19 has been the discovery of online beer, something I never looked into before. This one poured with a bit less head than I’d have liked but what was there was creamy and lasting. The nose of apricot and yeast raised my hopes and both were very much there in the semi-dry palate. It’s very deceptive at 8% and not cloying in the least, with a lingering, semi-dry finish. I’d definitely buy this again and will put more effort in getting the Winterweizen is this is any indication.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
