Impression: Gradl makes one of the best dark beers on the planet and it’s served gravity dispense at their pub so needless to say, I never gave more than passing thought to trying their Pils, especially since it’s only available in bottles. So, I was happy to find it a beer store nearby. It pours a nice golden with a fair rocky head. The nose is largely grainy with some mown grass for good measure. As with their Dunkles, it’s quite hoppy but kept in check with just enough malt which helps the grain shine through too It’s got a clean bitter finish which showcases both grain and hops. As much as I love their Dunkles, if I see this on tap at the pub, I’ll give it a go.
