Friedel Kellerbier
Brewery: Friedel
Town: Zentbechhofen
Style: Kellerbier
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: off-white, rocky, chiffon-like
Nose: malty, some cereal, biscuit
Body: medium
Palate: fruity, dry, slightly bitter
Finish: dry, semi-bitter
Served: from a bottle bought in the area
Impression: This one had one amazing head and some floating sentiment, a good reason to drink Kellerbiers from a Krug. It’s quite ale-like with a dry fruitiness I quite like. The hops are restrained but very much in the picture, especially in the finish. There’s a very slight butterscotch element which doesn’t interfere with its enjoyment. It’s deceptive at 5.5%.
